Bloodbath rising...

Unless you live in a cave (actually even Osama has probably heard by now) Yassir Arafat is dead. And while normal folks around the world maybe sighing in relief I'd like everyone to stop and think for a minute...Why did every world leader for the past 15 years continue to at least pay lip-service to a madman? The answer seems very clear...While he may not have been the most peaceful man in the mid-east he did keep many of the most violent in check. Why didn't the Isreali's take him out years ago? For the same reason that Gotti was the last Don the Feds took out in New York...Arafat had put himself in charge of an entire movement. Every two bit terrorist either looked up to him or feared him. So be prepared for exactly what the brightest leaders of countries around the world always knew...Without Arafat, all out war will ensue...and not just between Isreal and Terrorist but within the terrorist ranks. Beruit revisited. Colin Powell and the White House need to keep Isreal from invading Gaza and the West Bank once the violence begins. It was a similar invasion in 1982 that started a new round of trouble that still burns today. With the current situation...U.S. Troops bogged down in Iraq and most of the NATO allies reluctant to go into the region...any full scale invasion of the west bank (and God forbid bordering areas of Syria, Lebenon, Jordan, or Egypt) could spark the one thing that we've all always feared WWIII in the mid-east. With a little patience and good diplomancy Powell could appear at Arafat's funeral and work with Sharon and former PM Mahmoud Abbas to consolidate power and bring the peace that Arafat walked away from years ago. Support Abbas (a moderate) and help him bring control to Gaza and the West Bank and we may just see what even Clinton couldn't accomplish...Peace. We'll still have to fight Jihadist that advocate the destruction of Isreal but their support throughout the muslim world would be seriously undermined by a true Palestinian state that makes peace with Isreal and begins a healing process that is long overdo...Of cousre that's just my opinion...I could be wrong...
